National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Survey, 2018-19

Description: The 2018–19 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Survey (NATSIHS) was conducted between July 2018 and April 2019. It collected information from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of all ages in non-remote and remote areas of Australia, including discrete Indigenous communities. Funding for the survey was provided by the Australian Government Departments of Health and Prime Minister and Cabinet. Previous surveys have been conducted in 2012–13 and 2004–05. Some health data was also collected in the 2014–15, 2008 and 2002 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Surveys (NATSISS). It collected information on a number of topics for the first time, including mental health conditions, medications, consumption of sugar sweetened and diet drinks, experiences of harm and a hearing test.
