This dataset contains occupied and unoccupied private dwelling counts from the 2006, 2013, and 2018 Censuses, with percentage changes between the 2013 and 2018 Censuses, by regional council.
These regional council boundaries extend to the 12 mile limit and are as at 1 January 2018, for further information see Regional Council 2018 (generalised).
This data uses fixed random rounding to protect confidentiality, for further information see 2018 confidentiality rules.
Note: the 2018 Census counted fewer dwellings in the Marlborough region than existed at census time. This was mainly in the Marlborough Sounds. If you intend to use dwelling counts at this geography, please contact censusrequests@stats.govt.nz for more information.
