Event Information
GovHack is an annual open government data competition held across Australia and New Zealand. In 2020 it will be held on the weekend of 14th - 16th August. In 46 hours teams create project pages, proof of concepts, and a video that tells the story of how government data can be reused to address challenges to make out communities better places.
Enterprize Launceston at Macquarie House (along with Enterprize Hobart) are together in the only state having a physical event where competitors of all ages can come and meet other participants and work together (socially distanced of course) to formulate their ideas through government data.
The competition starts 6pm Friday 14th August and concludes 5pm Sunday 16th August and you will have access to the full facilities which include WiFi, printing, networking and brainstorming rooms.
Enterprize has implemented multiple COVID health safety measures to ensure the health and safety of the competitors and Tasmanian community. So if online or in person, come join us to make this the best GovHack ever.
The competition will be launching beginning at 6.30pm AEST Friday 14 August with an Australia-wide livestream and the competition will officially be launched at 7.00pm AEST. After the livestream, join us and your fellow participants on the GovHack Slack. We will be using Slack and Zoom extensively throughout the weekend to engage with you and other participants. Specific connection information to the Zoom sessions will be distributed closer to the weekend.
GovHack is a free event to attend for all competitors.
