Description: Council rates data Prior to the introduction of rate capping by the State Government in 2016, the Municipal Association of Victoria undertook an annual survey of predicted rate increases for Victorian councils. This survey was undertaken between 2003 and 2015. It provided comparable data on the budgeted movement in local government taxes on a per head and per assessment basis. Data from all years reported draft council budget figures.
